Parent Organization

The Jewett Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is comprised of all Jewett parents. The PTO is organized for the purpose of supporting and enhancing the educational and recreational experiences of Jewett Elementary’s students by:

  1. Providing an organization through which the parents, school, and teachers can work cooperatively; and

  2. Providing financial support, supplies and/or equipment for programs funded outside the annual school budget.

From funding field trips, to providing classroom supplies, to hosting school-wide events, the PTO works hard to support the elementary school experience for all students.

If you would like to be involved in the PTO, there are a few ways to do it.

First, come to our monthly PTO meetings! For just an hour a month, we go over all the different activities we are planning and funding. Childcare is always available, and we always meet early for dinner (provided!) and a chance to socialize with other parents.

Second, volunteer at an event!  PTO volunteers are what make each event successful. Set up, clean up, running the event, and generally helping makes each event just that much easier to pull off.

Third, become a board member!  We are always looking for interested parents to help run the PTO. Board positions don’t require a lot of effort and are a rewarding way to augment JES’s school culture and environment. They are also a great way to get plugged into the JES community. Email jewett.pto@gmail.com if you have any questions or any of these interest you.

Here is a list of all the different things PTO funded or planned in past school years: Jog-a-thon, Harvest Festival, Jewett's Got Talent, piano and ukuleles for music, Teacher Appreciation Week, classified staff gifts, Holiday Shoppe, and more!

None of this would happen without parent support! WE NEED YOU to help the PTO continue all of these amazing JES activities and traditions. PLEASE consider participating in the Jewett PTO!
